WrenchRep

Terms of Service

Draft — last updated August 27, 2026. This is a starting template, not a substitute for review by a licensed attorney.

1. What WrenchRep is

WrenchRep is a platform that lets mechanics create public profiles and lets customers leave reviews. Reviews tied to a job ticket generated by the mechanic are labeled "Verified." Reviews submitted without a ticket are labeled "Unverified" and are displayed separately from the mechanic's verified star rating. WrenchRep is a venue for these reviews — we do not perform, supervise, license, or guarantee any automotive repair work, and we are not a party to any transaction between a mechanic and a customer.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By using WrenchRep, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate.

3. Accounts

Accounts are created with a verified email address. You may optionally link a phone number to your account, verified by a text message code; once linked, you can log in with either your email or that phone number, and both access the same single account. You may change your account's email address at any time from Account settings; the change only takes effect once you confirm it via a link sent to the new address. You are responsible for keeping access to your email and any linked phone number secure, and for all activity under your account. You may delete your account and associated profile at any time; see our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data when you do.

4. User-submitted content

Mechanics and customers may submit profile information (including location, contact information, a profile photo, vehicle types serviced, certifications, and insurance status), job tickets, photos, ratings, written reviews, responses, dispute statements, and private reports flagging a review for moderation ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content, but by submitting it you grant WrenchRep a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute it as part of operating the platform. You are solely responsible for your own User Content and confirm you have the right to submit it.

5. Business name changes

If a mechanic changes the business name on their profile, WrenchRep automatically records the prior name. For 90 days after a change, the profile publicly displays "Formerly known as [prior name]" so returning customers can recognize the same mechanic. The full history of name changes is retained by WrenchRep beyond that 90-day window for internal reference and is not displayed publicly after the window closes.

6. Shop profiles

A separate "Shop" profile represents a business location and may be linked to multiple individual mechanic profiles. A shop profile does not carry its own independent rating — any aggregate rating shown on a shop page is calculated live from its linked mechanics' own verified reviews, and a mechanic's reviews remain tied to their individual profile regardless of their shop affiliation. A mechanic may link or unlink their profile from a shop at any time. Deleting a shop profile does not delete or affect any mechanic profile that was linked to it.

7. Certifications and insurance status are self-reported

Any certification, license number, or insurance status a mechanic lists on their profile is entered by that mechanic and is not independently verified by WrenchRep. A certification number is displayed so customers can look it up with the issuing organization themselves; WrenchRep does not confirm its validity. Do not rely on a listed certification or insurance status without verifying it directly with the mechanic or the relevant issuing body.

8. Verified vs. unverified reviews

A "Verified" review is tied to a job ticket generated by the mechanic and counts toward that mechanic's displayed star rating. An "Unverified" review is submitted without a job ticket — for example, when a customer states the mechanic did not provide one — and is displayed separately, without affecting the mechanic's star rating. WrenchRep does not independently confirm the accuracy of any review's content, whether verified or unverified, nor does it verify a mechanic's licensing, insurance, or certifications.

9. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to: submit a verified review without a genuine, completed job tied to a real ticket; submit an unverified review about a mechanic you did not actually hire; list a certification, license, or insurance status you do not actually hold; impersonate another person or business; post content that is defamatory, harassing, discriminatory, or unlawful; attempt to manipulate ratings through fake accounts or coordinated activity; repeatedly rename a business profile in an attempt to evade accountability for its review history (see Section 5 — reviews remain tied to the profile regardless of name changes); use the "Message" feature to send spam, harassment, or unsolicited advertising; scrape or bulk-extract platform data.

10. Disputes and reports

A mechanic may publicly respond to or dispute any review, verified or unverified — disputes are shown publicly next to the review. A mechanic may also privately report a review for moderation (for example, abusive or unlawful content); a report is not shown publicly and is reviewed by WrenchRep. WrenchRep does not adjudicate factual disputes between mechanics and customers and does not guarantee removal of any review. We may, at our discretion, remove content that clearly violates these Terms.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

WrenchRep is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any mechanic listed will perform work to any particular standard.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, WrenchRep and its owners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including damages arising from automotive repair work performed by a mechanic found through WrenchRep, reliance on a listed certification or insurance status, or from the content of any review, verified or unverified.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of WrenchRep after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
